After working in a very small extra bedroom for years, my husband and I decided to build an additon onto our house for studio space. Even though I could use more space for packing and photography and frame storage, this room feels wonderful after being in that bedroom.
I use my studio for sewing as well, and the flat file surfaces are wonderful for that purpose. We also constructed built in shelving so I could see all of my antique stuff that I use for props. The armoire holds most of my period clothing. One thing that I haven't figured out yet is how to store hats and bonnets. The bonnets that can be stored flat fill two of the drawers.
My studio is just off of our kitchen, so it is very much a part of our home. To separate the spaces in a dramatic way, I hung a pair of antique doors in the entry.
